Vertical Top Suspension Unit for Use Above Pipe (QC110)
The Vertical Top Suspension Unit is ideal for supporting pipework from above, offering constant load support across vertical travel. Equipped with multiple fixing options for steelwork attachment, this unit prevents undue stress on pipe connections by maintaining uniform support. Its construction includes corrosion-resistant finishes and high-quality materials to withstand demanding environments.
Quality Pipe Supports (QPS) Ltd. Constant Spring Units provide consistent support for pipework experiencing vertical expansion or contraction. By maintaining a constant load throughout the unit’s travel range, these supports prevent undue stress on pipe connections, ensuring system integrity.
Key Features
- Constant load maintained across full range of movement.
- Load adjustment capability of ±20% via adjustment screw.
- Individually calibrated using electronic load-travel recording.
- Durable construction with stainless steel scale plates for precise support details.
- Options for hot-dip galvanising or multi-coat paint systems.
- Available in carbon steel, with stainless steel options for corrosive environments.
Design and Construction
Constant Spring Units employ a cranked load arm and coiled compression spring, perfectly counterbalancing pipe loads based on the principle of moments. Robustly built, with casing protection against environmental conditions, they feature versatile attachment options for steelwork connection.
Model Range
Six models – horizontal, vertical, and base-mounted – are offered in 66 sizes, supporting loads from 10kg to 31,500kg and accommodating travel ranges from 40mm to 610mm. Custom designs for extended loads and travel are available.
Preset and Testing
Units are pre-set for cold conditions with removable locking pins for easy installation. They support hydrostatic test loads up to twice the operating load, ensuring reliability under demanding conditions.
